READ YOUR CONTRACT BEFORE BUYING HE
by John on August 7th, 2008 |
| Just a word of advice about buying a phone from Easco Wireless. They are actually a 3rd party agent for Verizon. When you buy a phone from Easco, you not only sign a contract with Verizon, but you also sign a contract with Easco Wireless. Of course they don't tell you this, and put it in very fine print at the bottom of the contract. If you cancel your service with Verizon before your contract is up, not only will you have to pay an early termination fee to Verizon, but you will also have to pay a $250 early termination fee to Easco Wireless! They receive a commission from Verizon when you sign a contract. When you cancel your service before your contract is up, Easco Wireless looses their commission as well. So in order to keep their commission, they charge you another termination fee. I found this out the hard way when I was contacted by a collection agency telling me I owed Easco $500 (apparently they also charge interest on top of it). I never was told this when I bought the phone, so I am warning as many people as possible before they buy a phone here. My advice, go directly to a Verizon Wireless corporate store, you're get a better deal on the phone, and if for some reason you have to cancel, you'll only pay an early termination fee once! Also the accessories at Easco are WAY overpriced. I bought a car charger for $30 there, went home searched the UPC number on line, and find the SAME EXACT charger selling online for $6.95 free shipping. These people care nothing about their customers, only their customers money, period. |
